The Bone Mineral Density test assesses your bones’ strength. It is usually used to detect the risk of osteoporosis and bone breakage caused by the decrease of bone density. It is also used to monitor the effectiveness of osteoporosis treatment.
Is DXA for you?
DXA is done for both men and women at risk of osteoporosis. However, it is important to note that osteoporosis is four times more common in women than in men.
