Open MRI

Comfortable, non-claustrophobic MRI scans for joints and limbs
S-Scan Open MRI

At IMAGES Diagnostic Center Kuwait, our Open MRI service is specially designed for musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging. Using the advanced O-Scan and S-Scan systems, we provide high-resolution scans for joints, limbs, and sports-related injuries. The O-Scan offers a comfortable, seated position, while both systems eliminate the feeling of being enclosed.

The open design means only the area being scanned is inside the magnet, making it ideal for patients with claustrophobia, children, and anyone who prefers a more relaxed scan experience.

  • MRI uses a magnetic field, so patients with certain implanted medical devices (such as pacemakers, some cochlear implants, or certain metal clips) may not be eligible for scanning.

  • Some patients may feel slight warmth in the scanned area — this is normal and temporary.

  • There are no known harmful effects from MRI for most people; however, it is not recommended for some pregnant patients unless clinically necessary.

  • Our team reviews your medical history and devices before the scan to ensure your safety.

MRI prices in Kuwait can range from 60 KWD to 150 KWD depending on the facility, machine type (open vs. closed), and technology used. While some providers may offer lower prices, it’s important to consider:

  • Technology & Scanner Quality – Newer, high-resolution scanners produce clearer, more accurate images.

  • Scan Time & Comfort – Advanced machines shorten scan duration and reduce noise, improving patient comfort.

  • Diagnostic Accuracy – Higher quality imaging reduces the risk of inconclusive results or repeat scans.

  • Specialized Protocols – Certain conditions require specific MRI settings or coils for optimal detection.

Choosing the right MRI provider isn’t just about price — it’s about getting the most accurate results the first time, so you and your doctor can make the best treatment decisions without delays or repeat procedures.
